AUDIOCONFERENCE OVERVIEW
Several veteran federal prosecutors, including Michael Loucks and Eugene Thirolf, have recently indicated the device sector will come under intense scrutiny in 2008. "This will be a very significant year for device investigations, litigation, and settlements," says former Department of Justice attorney Laurence Freedman. "Enforcement activity this year will further fuel a qui tam frenzy in the device sector."
On Wednesday, February 20, New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Christie will headline a panel of five national experts assessing the implications of the recent landmark investigation of five major device companies handled by his office. The audioconference will also address the numerous risk areas facing the medical device industry and additional investigations that have recently surfaced.
